I grew up in Shiraz, Iran. One day, I watched an old TV series called Skippy, featuring a young boy and a kangaroo. That was the first time I learned about Australia. Back then, I vaguely thought, If I ever live abroad, a country like that would be nice. As I entered my twenties, I felt the need for a change—I was living in a familiar city, surrounded by familiar people, following a predictable routine. I felt stuck. Yet, opening the door and stepping outside the comfort of my home into a world I knew nothing about required more courage than I had imagined. However, what scared me even more was the thought of remaining stagnant. So, I decided to trust myself—to believe that I could stand on my own, even in a place where I knew neither the language nor the culture, without anyone’s help.
And just like that, I found myself in Australia, a place I had once dreamed of as a child. Here, I encountered people from all corners of the world, experienced different cultures, and learned new ways of living. I realized that the world is filled with diverse values and perspectives. For the first time, I felt my small world expanding.
Some say that life is a constant journey of wandering. I like to think of it this way: every place we explore, every path we take, adds to the width of our lives. That’s why we must continue to explore and experience more.

Through my journey to Australia, I learned the true meaning of adventure, and that experience changed me. At times, I still see my own weaknesses. But I also know that the experiences we accumulate give us the courage and faith to keep going. They remind us that our future selves will find a way forward. Only by stepping into the unknown can we gain the strength and confidence to push beyond our limits.
